Veneers at Dental Clinic @ World Tower

Everyone is different. That is why at Dental Clinic @ World Tower we offer a range of veneers to suit a range of needs. Our range of veneers include:

  1. Lumineers
  2. Porcelain Veneers
  3. Composite Resin Veneers

1. Lumineers…

Lumineers, unlike traditional veneers require next-to-no preparation of the existing tooth which usually involves shaving down a small part of the tooth enamel. Lumineers are created to be contact lens thin and are deceptively strong which ensures that they will stand the test of time.

Lumineers made from Cerinate can be placed in a quick and painless manner—more often than not no anaesthetic is required for the procedure. As with all dental treatments it is best to consult with a dentist as to what is the best treatment for you.

Lumineers have a range of benefits…

This cosmetic dental procedure presents a great number of advantages over traditional veneer treatments. It is non-invasive and there is little, if any drilling or grinding down of tooth enamel. Positioning the Lumineers is quick and painless and they’re reversible. Lumineers have also been clinically proven to last up to 20 years and allow you to eat and drink normally.

What is the process of getting Lumineers?

Getting Lumineers takes two appointments: during the first appointment a custom precise mould is taken of your teeth and sent away to be made. The second appointment (usually five weeks later) is when they are bonded to the front of your teeth—this process can take around an hour.

2. Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are an aesthetically pleasing (and long-term) solution to chipped, cracked or discoloured teeth. Porcelain veneers are made from a smooth ceramic and is made to replicate the shade and colour of your natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are stain-proof, natural looking and long-lasting: if looked after properly they can last 10 to 15 years.

Process of getting porcelain veneers….

Like Lumineers, porcelain veneers take two appointments: the first appointment one of our professional dentists will examine your teeth and discuss what your best options are. Then an impression is made of your teeth before they are prepared. Between the first appointment and second temporary veneers are placed on your teeth.

The second appointment involves removing the temporary veneers, making sure your new permanent veneers fit and then bonding them to your teeth.

3. Composite Resin Veneers

Composite resin veneers are a tooth coloured filling material made from silica, quartz and glass—this can be colour-matched to suit the natural colour of your teeth.

The advantages of composite resin veneers are that they do not usually require any reduction of the tooth structure and they are also cheaper than porcelain veneers.

Unlike Lumineers and porcelain veneers composite resin veneers only take one appointment: the surface of your teeth will be roughened using a solution to ensure that a strong bonding process between your teeth and the resin. Layers of the resin are applied to your tooth to recreate the natural look of your tooth—to facilitate the resin an intense light is applied to cure and harden the composite material. The cured material is then shaped and polished to create natural looking teeth.

Skip the orthodontic work and still achieve a dazzling smile

With veneers you can attain that dazzling smile without lengthy treatment

One of the many wonders of veneers is that they are cosmetic dental procedure that also benefits the functionality of your teeth. Veneers not only make your teeth stain resistant (and return them to their natural, healthy looking selves) but also add strength and durability to your teeth.

Veneers are a great option…

Veneers are custom-made, come in three different kinds and are a minimally invasive way to restore the look and feel of your teeth. There are a variety of reasons why you may need veneers such as:

  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Discolouration
  • Crooked teeth
  • Teeth with weak enamel

If for these reasons (or any others) you feel that your smile could use veneers than please don’t hesitate to book an appointment at Dental Clinic @ World Tower in Sydney.

At our conveniently located dental clinic we offer three different types of veneers…

At Dental Clinic @ World Tower we understand that everyone is different and that is why we offer a range of veneer treatments to suit your individual needs. One of those veneers is called Lumineers and they are the most advanced form of veneers on the market.

Lumineers are the future of veneers. Over the decades Lumineers have enhanced and improved smiles. They are the most advanced form of veneer available.

Why are Lumineers so wonderful?

The answer is simple; they are a non-invasive ultra-thin (as thin as a contact lens) and are clinically proven to last for up to twenty years! When you come and visit us at Dental Clinic @ World Tower in Sydney our skilled and friendly dentists will sit with you and determine the best course of action for you. If you are a suitable candidate for Lumineers the benefits are amazing:

1. Non-invasive:

They are reversible! That should be put out there straight away. If, for whatever reason, down the track you need them replaced or removed, Lumineers give you that option. Because the veneers are so thin there is next to drilling or tooth grinding required for bonding. And bonding the veneers to the tooth is a quick and pain-free exercise!

2. Aesthetically pleasing:

This is your smile after all and a good smile helps with self-confidence. Due to the fact that Lumineers are so thin, they are practically translucent so that they mimic the appearance of your natural teeth.

3. Strong and durable:

As previously mentioned, it has been clinically proven that Lumineers can last up to twenty years. Lumineers can be bonded straight to the tooth enamel. What this allows for is a stronger bond between the natural tooth and Lumineers. Additionally, unlike some other treatment options with Lumineers you can eat and drink what you want—there’s no worry about certain foods harming your Lumineers; also the ability of your front teeth to chew is not—unlike some other forms of treatment—reduced or diminished in any way.

Lumineers….Dental Clinic @ World Tower

Lumineers are amazing, that may have been said a few times during this article. But it hasn’t been said enough. Here’s another reason why: It only takes two quick visits to the dentist to give you the smile you always wanted with Lumineers. The process is simple, straightforward and completed in just two visits. Just two visits to get back that smile you want and the self-confidence that goes with it:

  1. Your first visit will consist of a mould being taken of your teeth. During this visit you will also choose the shade of your new permanent smile. Once the mould has been made it will be sent away to be turned into your very own custom-made Lumineers.
  2. It can take around five weeks for the lab to create and us to receive your new Lumineers. It only takes an hour for us to painless attach your new Lumineers.

Dentists – Heavyweights in the Hip Hop Industry

This seemingly paradoxical statement is actually true! Think about it…

Where did rappers like Lil’ Wayne, Flava Flav and Ludacris source their gold encrusted teeth?
And who was behind the dental appliance trend “Grills” that hip hop star Nelly famously sang about?

Dentists of course!

Expensive, ostentatious and superficial, our dentists would much prefer you choose a more natural-looking cosmetic treatment… but for some fun lets explore the hip hop history of dental bling!

In the 1980s a renegade dentist Eddie Plein ignited the trend when he made gold crowns for rapper Flava Flav (of rap group Public Enemy). He later began to design bespoke grills (bedazzled removable veneers) for the wider hip hop community. These were usually constructed from silver, gold or platinum, and then encrusted with expensive jewels.

This dental trend gained exposure over the next two decades with Ludacris, Lil Jon and Kanye West promoting the fashion statement in their film clips. After 20 years of fluctuating popularity, in 2006 Nelly released his number one hit “Grillz” and solidified this dental trend in pop cultural history.

So how are grills made?

Much like a veneer restoration, grills are custom fitted to the patient’s teeth.

  • First a dentist will take and impression of the teeth using an alginate dental putty.
  • This mould is then used to create a plaster model of the teeth.
  • This model is then used as a guide to fabricate the “blinged up” grills to fit the teeth perfectly.
  • Unlike permanent veneers, grills are generally clip on for easy removal.

The long term health effects of wearing grills has not been studied, but in the past some people have been known to cement grills to their teeth, which can be destructive and damaging.
